quick rome and vatican city trip

Day 6: Travel to Rome

We spent most of our day in the airport and traveling. We checked into our Airbnb and went to dinner. This Airbnb was interesting… it was in a great location, but it was also definitely haunted. The main bedroom bed was fine, the other things were not so great. There was a stroller in the ceiling tiles?? and we also saw a scorpion.

We ate dinner at Cantina e Cucina right next to our apartment, and it was fantastic. Probably my favorite place in Rome! We even went there twice.

Day 7: Rome

We walked around Colosseum, Roman Forum, Palatine Hill, historic City Center, Spanish Steps before we ate lunch at Alfredo alla Scrofa. This is the “home of fettuccine alfredo” and let me tell you. It is NOT worth it. At all. Don’t waste your time here.

We finished the day with Pantheon, Trevi Fountain (it was so crowded, I wish we went early in the day), and Campo De Fiori.

We ate at CicciaBomba which was absolutely mid.

Day 8: Vatican City

We started our day eating at Barnum. Good food and coffee, but creepy ass paintings.

We did the Vatican City climb and spent time there.

We finished our day off by just Rome-ing around Rome before heading back and eating at Cantina e Cucina (again).

Two sizes is the best tiramisu I’ve ever had. I daydream about it everyday.

Overall thoughts: I really, really love Rome. It might be my favorite city, and maybe because my favorite dessert is tiramisu. Would love to go back soon.
